A utility engineer is responsible for designing and planning the build out, operation, and maintenance of utility systems, such as fiber optic, gas, water, and electrical systems. They work to ensure that these systems are designed and implemented in a way that is safe, efficient, and meets regulatory requirements. Utility engineers may work on projects such as upgrading or expanding existing systems, building new systems to serve growing populations, or integrating new technologies into existing systems. They must have a strong understanding of engineering principles, as well as relevant regulations and safety standards. Good communication and problem-solving skills are also important for this job.
Shop is in Sugar Grove, job sites range across northern Illinois, some travel possible. We work 5 days per week in all reasonable weather conditions.
Union scale base, with the opportunity to exceed scale depending on experience and performance
