Linemen

A telecommunications lineman is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining the cables and equipment used to transmit voice, data, and video communications. They work on telephone and cable television lines, as well as fiber-optic and wireless communication systems. Communication linemen use specialized equipment to climb utility poles or work from elevated platforms to install and repair cables. They must follow safety protocols to ensure that they do not damage or disrupt any communication lines, and may need to communicate with other workers or members of the public who may be affected by their work. Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to work at heights are important qualities for this job.

Shop is in Sugar Grove, job sites range across northern Illinois, some travel possible. We work 5 days per week in all reasonable weather conditions.

Union scale base, with the opportunity to exceed scale depending on experience and performance

We are IBEW 196. Full benefits and pension after 60 days

Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening

Local help only, no per diem or hotels provided unless work is outside of our regional area
